Different prices for different customers, in one store.
Retail shoppers, wholesale accounts and members can all buy from the same store. Each sees the price you approved them for, and nobody sees a price that is not theirs.
Price categories
For each vendor you sell, you name its price categories, such as Retail, Wholesale and Member, and give each product a price in each one. A price category can also be worked out from another, such as 20% off Retail.
An example, with a made-up product:
| Price category | Price | Who sees it |
|---|---|---|
| Retail | $48.00 | Everyone |
| Wholesale | $29.00 | Buyers approved for wholesale |
| Member | $24.00 | Buyers approved as members |
Gates decide who sees which price
A gate is a group of buyers and the price category each of your vendors shows them. The public gate is everyone. A private gate is an application: only the buyers you approve get in, and see its prices. See Wholesale applications.
A buyer in two gates
A buyer approved through two gates sees the lower of the two prices for each product.
Prices nobody else is sent
A price is worked out on the server for whoever is looking, so a wholesale price is never sent to a retail shopper’s browser, not even hidden in the page. In the public store you can show a product with its price hidden and “Registration required” in its place.
Your cost stays yours
- Mark one price category as your cost. It is never shown to a shopper and can never be chosen for a gate.
- When you bring in a vendor’s price sheet, any product sold for no more than it costs you is flagged before it comes in.
- Reports show what you kept on each vendor, from what each line cost you.
Discounts for each group
A gate can also have its own discount codes or automatic discounts, as a percentage or an amount off. A code works only for what that gate’s buyers have in their bag, and each order uses the one discount that takes off the most.
